BRETON FEZ-NOZ in Kensington!

September 28, 2019.  BRETON FEZ-NOZ in Kensington!  A group of local and Breton musicians (including Shira Kammen, Jim Oakden, Ronan Keryell, and others) and dance leaders are organizing a traditional Breton Fest-Noz, a music and folk dance event from the Brittany region of France. It’s a chance to dance traditional folkdances of Brittany-even if you’re a beginner, as dances are easy to learn, and there’ll be dance instructors on-hand. No partners needed–these are mostly circle dances! The music will be performed by musicians playing traditional instruments, such as the bombard, binioù (bagpipe), harp, fiddle, flute, whistle, and guitar. There will be food (Breton crepes) and drink (Breton cider, as well as wine, and juice) for sale, so you can keep your energy up while you dance. This is a rare opportunity to participate in traditional Breton culture. Yec’hed mat! (A votre santé !)  5-10pm.  Arlington Community Church, 52 Arlington Ave., Kensington, CA.  Donation requested: $10.
