MUSICA PACIFICA: NOEL, NOEL!

November 30-December 2, 2012. MUSICA PACIFICA plays NOEL, NOEL! CHRISTMAS MUSIC FROM 18TH CENTURY ITALY, FRANCE AND GERMANY. Judith Linsenberg, recorder; Elizabeth Blumenstock, violin; Shirley Hunt, cello, gamba; Charles Sherman, organ & harpsichord; with guests Clara Rottsolk, soprano; and Debra Nagy, oboe. Guest artists Nagy and Rottsolk enrich the sonorities of one of the Bay Area’s most colorful and lauded chamber ensembles. Featured works include Antonio Vivaldi’s concerto “La Pastorella,” H.I.F. Biber’s “Nativity” Sonata, and Alessandro Scarlatti’s Christmas Cantata. Joseph Chabanceau de la Barre. Venues: Fridays in Palo Alto: All concerts at 8pm at First Lutheran Church, 600 Homer Avenue at Webster; Saturdays in Berkeley: All concerts at 7:30pm at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 2727 College at Garber except September 22 & October 20, at St. Mary Magdalen Parish (SMMP), 2005 Berryman at Milvia; and December 1, at First Congregational Church (FCC), Dana at Durant.
