Original and world premiere ballets by RODOLPHE CASSAND

May 5, 2012. CASSAND BALLET presents FAUNE – FORME – ETUDES. Original and world premiere ballets by RODOLPHE CASSAND. Three beautiful ballets in three evolving styles: classical, neoclassical and modern, all original works from Rodolphe Cassand. Faune. A sensual one-act neoclassical ballet, set to Claude Debussy’s music and inspired from Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune, a poem by Stéphane Mallarmé, depicting a strange encounter of a faun with nymphs. Forme. A dynamic and intriguing world premiere modern work in two movements, an exploration of geometrical forms: square to diamond and parallelogram, circle to oval, forms fold and unfold, on stage as in life. Études. This one-act ballet is an homage to classical ballet training, set to Carl Czerny’s music. Discovered during his formative years at the Paris Conservatoire, Rodolphe Cassand uses the memories of the ballet at the Paris Opera to create a brand new choreography. With Mads Eriksen, formerly with Royal Danish Ballet and Rodolphe Cassand, formerly soloist with San Francisco Ballet and National Ballet of Marseille – Roland Petit.
